Giving kids a reason to smile

Children's Dentistry
Ideally, your child's first visit should be around their first birthday. We recommend discussing your child's first visit to the dentist and utilizing the
following activities prior to the visit to prepare and encourage dialogue for their first trip to the dentist:
|
- Just Going to the Dentist - by Mercer Mayer
- Show Me Your Smile! A Visit to the Dentist (Dora the Explorer) - by Christine Ricci
- Going to the Dentist - by Anne Civardi
- Going to the Denist - by Fred Rogers
- The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist - by Stan & Jan Berenstain
- Barney Goes to the Dentist - by Linda Dowdy
- Curious George Goes to the Dentist - by Margaret Rey
The books above are a good start to giving your child the lifelong advantage of looking forward to her dental visits.

During the first visit, parents are invited into the treatment suites, but for future appointments we ask that the child accompany our team to the clinical area in order for us to establish trust and a close rapport. If you must accompany your child, we ask that when in the room, you allow the team to communicate to your child, in order for them to not be confused with any of the directions or explanations we are giving.
Please remember that your child has no previous experience or association with dentists, and negative talk from outside sources can make your child fearful and significantly impact their views of the dentist.
Visiting the dentist can be a daunting prospect for a child. To ensure future dental health, we make every visit fun-filled
and something to look forward to!
We feature:
